Smart Car USA: $99 Doesn't gauruntee us a car

Only a few more days until Smart opens its Reservation Program. Starting April 2nd, Smart car fans can log onto SmartUsa.com and "officially" get in line to order the highly anticipated European mini car that's finally coming to the U.S. next year. But take caution. That $99 you will pay to "get in line" won't really put you in line. It's just a way for DaimlerChrysler to research where in the country lies the most interest for these cars.

However, the $99 reduction will be deducted from the $12,000 Smart (starting price) if you do happen to get your hands on one. Plan on seeing the basic "Pure" starting at $12,000 , the "Passion" a more spiffier version of the "Pure" starting at $14,000, and the "Passion Cario" where the price jumps to $17,000. All will be available in an array of colors. We expect these things to fly off the shelf as did the Mini-Coopers. Start camping out in front of your Chrysler dealer today.
