SCOOP: BMW X5 Coupe, 3 Series Shooting Break & 2007 model info

The latest edition of Autopista magazine which came out today, host's two future BMW renderings on its front page, the X5 Coupe (or X-Sports as some have named it) and the 3 Series Shooting Break both of which are rumoured to go into production in 2008. Although I can't comment on the renderings, I wish that the magazines would make up their mind whether BMW's sporty crossover will be a 2door-Coupe or a 4door-Coupe as Automotorundsport recently speculated (check the photos bellow). Except if we're talking about two different models, a 2door based on the X5 and a 4door-Coupe based on the X3 -which I highly doubt.

And to be totally honest, in a recent conversation I had with a BMW product manager, he knew nothing about either model. Interesting enough though, he informed me that in next year's Geneva show BMW will unveil the 3door version of the 1 Series hatch along with the 2007 5 Series which will receive a mild makeover in order to satisfy a "more conservative audience" who found the car's looks too "modern" (...). He also added that BMW will most likely unveil sometime next year the cabrio version of the 1 Series which, unlike its hatch counterparts, will be available in the American market.
